How does Submerged create Tension - Link to Submerged video

This is the opening scene of the video Submerged. We see an oblivious blue light appear from the dark, which causes the audience to pay closer attention towards the situation as the audience are unsure of what the blue light is. Creating a tense atmosphere from the start of the thriller.

This scene illustrates how small and claustrophobic it is in the submarine, as everything is place close together. This allows the tension to build up as it creates a very isolated and tense inside the submarine as there is no signs of escape. Almost making them seem trapped under the water.

This scene makes the audience conscious of what of what they are going to find. The fact that the audience is searching in the dark creates a very tense atmosphere, as the audience doesn't not know what to expect.

Music - Throughout the trailer the musics pace starts to slowly build up, which leads to a massive crescendo. This helps build tension as  the audience is stimulates the human senses.

Techniques - The use of a cliff hanger allows the audience to use their own imagination, which builds tension as the situation might not be as bad as it seems.
